Micah and Nicole's Wedding Weekend

It's almost impossible to sum up the amount of fun we had rockin' it in Millinocket last weekend. Between the beautiful blue sky, the breathtaking view of Katahdin, and the quaint surprises left all around by Micah, Nicole, Nancy, Mike, and all of the family and friends who pitched in, we were smiling and laughing at every turn. Thank you, Nicole, for opening your heart and home to all of us - we look forward to years of celebration to come.

Happy Birthday Farrah!

Talya and I were blessed to join our friends and their daughter Farrah for her 3rd birthday. Farrah greeted us under the pink balloon, telling us, "so... let me show you around," as she led us into the back yard where her party was beginning. Together we painted, celebrated, and gave thanks for all of the progress that they have made together.

Ursula and Joe Engagement Session

Techie meets teacher and they fall in love. Get a cat, plan a math-themed Maine wedding, and they're off to a new life together. We had to dodge some thunderstorms and take an early Thai dinner to get these photos done, but in the end it all worked out. Congratulations, Ursula and Joe!

 

 

O, Sweet Summer!

Our growing season might be short, but New Englanders can really bring it when it comes to fresh produce. The Portland Farmer's Market has really become the place to be on a Saturday morning. From a small collection of booths just a few years ago to a hearty expanse of folks sharing their goods, it has been exciting to see so many people come together over local foods. And yes, the carrots were both sweet and ginormous!

 I was so happy to see Maine's commit to both sustainable agriculture and access to good food for all:

Yes, Maine is the way life should be.

Jamaica Plain Lantern Festival

Last weekend I had the pleasure of showing my cousin and her happy family around Boston. We packed up the baby, the dogs, and the cameras, and went up to Forest Hills cemetery for the annual Jamaica Plain Lantern Festival. I had only been to the cemetery once before, last summer when I was shooting Sarah and Del's engagement photos. I was glad to return to this spot for another event. Check out some of the shots below:

Congratulations Sharon and Jenn!

Surrounded by family and friends, Sharon and Jenn celebrated their love together at the historic Hawthorne Inn in Salem. After 25 years they were both cool, calm, and collected, and the day went off flawlessly.

Their niece was a beautiful flower girl.

                      















Both Sharon and Jenn added their own personal touches to the day:

 

             

 They shared a ring and a bracelet to symbolize their marriage. 

  

 Everyone who attended shared a deep love, joy, and respect for Sharon and Jenn.
